2 Peter 1:3-21 (NIV)

1. What word or phrase in today's reading speaks to your heart?
(v. 3) "given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him."
(v. 4) "escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires."
(v. 8) "will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."
(v. 9) "forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins."
(v. 12) "truth you now have."
(v. 13) "refresh your memory...in the tent of this body."
(v. 16) "eyewitnesses of his majesty."

2. How does today's reading directly relate to your life right now?
(v. 3) getting back on track with God
(v. 4) being renewed; leaving the old self behind
(v. 8) keep that God centered focus
(v. 9) making mistakes
(v. 12) Being/As a child of God
(v. 13) Being HUMAN
(v. 16) the Bible is FACT. God breathed

3. How is God calling you to respond to what you've read today?
(v. 3) More encouragement to keep on keeping on
(v. 4) Becoming renewed in Him is giving me hope to change from my old ways.
(v. 8) the outline/boundaries. I must adhere to the GUIDELINES.
(v. 9) Don't mess up. Disrespectful
(v. 12) Saved by His Grace
(v. 13) It's HUMAN not to retain everything
(v. 16) Don't ever doubt the authenticity of the Bible

4. Your own additional thoughts/meditations:
(v. 3) Another great and loving reminder that God and His Word is all we need. The fulfilling act of believing and knowing Him by seeking/being knowledgeable of His Word. Supplying all my needs.
(v. 4) He's allowing/aiding me to release the old things I desired. By prioritizing Him first, NOTHING else really compares at all.
(v. 8) I have to keep growing. I am more useful for His Kingdom when I put the effort in it. Step by step. Improving so I may represent Him correctly.
(v. 9) His sacrifice would be in vain if I didn't strive to be Christ-like. Salvation must be lived and showcased for all to see.
(v. 12) The truth we have from God. There will be times when I slip because I'm only human. But I can never ignore/forget His truth as His Child.
(v. 13) It's very normal to keep reminding and relearning His messages and lessons in this worldly world. I won't be consistent and I know my memory is lacking. Knowing my faults, I should act on preparing myself and keeping in-check.
(v. 16) The word of God is all true authentic facts. It is what God has chosen to reveal to His People. We must see/use the revealed to lead into the unrevealed. I don't understand how anybody could question the TRUTH of His Word/Love Letter.
